Five Rivers Morris - The History

J. Brenner, Bagman 2008/2009

Five Rivers Morris was formed in 2008 because a bunch of like minded blokes in Sheffield wanted to dance some morris.  We still do, so we still do.

Some of said bunch of blokes are award winning dancers, while others arrived as complete novices.  What everyone shares is an appetite for beer, fun and good morris.

Because the team started pretty recently, there ain't a lot of history to tell so far.  This is what there is:

22nd May 2008 First ever practice, above the King George IV pub on Infirmary Road
9th Oct. 2008 First AGM, at someone's house
13th Nov. 2008 Name & kit agreed, at an EGM at practice
22nd Jan. 2009 Change practice venue to Burton Street Community Project, Burton Street
23rd Apr. 2009 First ever dance out at the Fat Cat and Kelham Island Tavern, Sheffield

Five Rivers Morris: plenty more to come...
